Book Giving Day is all about sharing, sending and receiving wonderful, indeed brilliant children’s books. It will be a way for you to spread the word about a children’s book you loved, and to discover another equally amazing book through a gift from someone else – not just to a St John’s child but to other children who are in need. This year we are donating books to Hummingbird House – a children’s hospice.

Do the books I send have to be brand new?
No, they can be second hand / pre-owned but remember you’re sending something as a gift so please only send something you would be happy to receive as a present.

Do I have to swap?
If your child cannot find something on the day that they would like to swap, then they are welcome to take their book home again.
When: During your child’s Library lesson in Week Three, beginning Monday February 11th
Where:  In the Chapel where Library lessons will be held in Week Three
What do I Need?

  • 2 books
    • One you would like to swap or give for the year level that your child is currently in; AND/OR
    • a second book to donate to children in need.

Families need to complete the Permission Note and return it to school. Children will not be allowed to swap without this.
