Sports Centre Redevelopment Update

The much anticipated St John’s Sports Centre Redevelopment is hitting many milestones as it continues its progress to be completed within the coming months.

So what’s next?? The second pour for the sports courts, window installations, painting, lift delivery and installation, roofing on the new section, tiling in the amenities and plenty more. CLICK HERE  to view the outstanding progress so far.

Secondary Sport

Congratulations to the following students who will be representing Met West at the Queensland School Sport State Swimming Championships:

Siara Leach (50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke) and Angeline Yorke (50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke)

Round 6 Sport
Round 6 sport is at John Paul College this Saturday 7 March.

Term 2 Sport
Students have received an email from the sports department asking them to sign up for term 2 sport. The following sports are on offer in term 2: Boys Rugby, Boys Tennis, Girls Hockey, Girls Netball.

Primary Sport

Well done to the six swimmers who represented the District team at the Met West Regional trials on Wednesday 26 February:

Aliyah-Rose Barber-Logo, Kingston Joy, Sarbani Maitra, Acacia Wohlsen, Jonathan Kepczyk and Isabella Rossotti.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who set new school records on the day:

Aliyah-Rose Barber-Logo – U12 Girls 50m Backstroke – 37. 96 previously held by Maddie Newham 2019
Kingston Joy – U10 Boys 50m Backstroke – 44.57 previously held by Cameron Mitchell 2013
Sarbani Maitra – U12 Girls 50m Butterfly previously held by Maddie Newham 2019

Congratulations to Aliyah-Rose on qualifying for the Met West Swimming team in the 50m Backstroke event and to Jayden Braithwaite on being selected into the Southern Scorpions District AFL team to play in the Regional Met West trials on 17 March.
