Old Collegian Workshop

On Monday 19 October, we were delighted to welcome back to the College, Old Collegian Egan Sun Bin (Class of 2017) to run a Drama workshop with our Year 9, 10 and 11 Drama classes. Egan is in his final few weeks of his Acting degree at QUT and has been given the honour of receiving the Jennifer Blocksidge Memorial Award. The award offers an outstanding Acting graduate the opportunity to further pursue their chosen field.

Egan intends on using his award to develop his craft in directing and help provide more opportunities for young emerging artists to work in theatre. After a challenging year for the live performing arts sector, there will be fewer opportunities for those graduating or coming into the industry to find or create work. “I want to be able to create a richer and diverse performing arts industry.” Egan says.

We thank Egan who inspired our students and assisted them in learning various acting techniques.

College Creations

College Creations was a very successful night for our Performing Arts students, along with the amazing student works on display. Our visitors to the showcase were entertained by various music performances from our Chamber Strings Ensemble, Lachlan Kemp, James Manche, Bella Nguyen, Iris McKenzie and Isabella Dewitt. We thank our students for performing so wonderfully at this creative event.

Classroom Music

On Monday 26 October, our classroom music students had the pleasure of having a masterclass workshop with Sam Luff.

Sam Luff is an Actor and Singer-Songwriter from Brisbane, Australia who also specialises in composing, arranging, and music production. He is currently the music producer for Studio Yuraki, an internationally based animation and gaming studio.
