We have had a busy but exciting start to Term 3 in the Performing Arts.

On Monday 16 July we had a combined rehearsal to practice and prepare for the upcoming Foundation Day celebrations. On Monday 23 August we had our Foundation Day Assembly where we celebrated 25 Years of the college. Our Wind Symphony, Academy Strings, Drum Line and Chorale performed various items including a sneak peek of our special commissioned work composed by Sean O’Boyle.

This term we have lots of exciting events coming up.

  • Tonight (Thursday 26 July) at 7:30pm James Morrison is performing along with the world premiere of our commissioned work “Where We Belong”in the Performing Arts Centre.
  • Thursday 2 August QLD Wind Orchestra is coming for an open rehearsal.
  • Friday 10 August – Academy Strings are performing at the Old Collegians Breakfast.
  • Tuesday 14 August is our PACE Showcase – 6:30pm. A night not to miss involving all of our performance groups. Be sure to mark your diaries.
  • From the 16 – 19 August we have the Combined Schools Music Festival tour to Melbourne.

Later this term we will announce our College musical for 2019. Auditions for students in Years Five to Twelve will be held in Term 4. Stay tuned for the next musical adventure to begin!
