P&F Welcome Event at the Primary School tomorrow night – Friday 24 February, from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. This event is a fabulous opportunity for all families to reconnect with one another and meet the new members of our College community. Children will be able to play on the oval with the senior student leaders while mums, dads and grandparents enjoy refreshments in The Meadow (the central courtyard space beside the Chapel undercover area). The evening will run from 6.00pm to 7.30pm and drinks and nibbles will be provided. All College families are most welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you there.
Pancake Day will be held on Tuesday next week, 28 February. Students participating in this event should have already submitted their orders. Money raised from the sale of pancakes will support the work of Anglicare and Ronald McDonald House.
Ash Wednesday is always held the day after Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday. It is a time of the year that many Christians begin preparing for Easter and focussing on the great love God has for all mankind. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent, the forty days before Easter. This year we will hold two Ash Wednesday Services at the primary school.
- 8.45am for Prep to Year Two
- 2.00pm for Years Three to Six
Families are most welcome to join us at either or both services.
Cathedral Concert Please join us on Thursday 2 March at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane City from 7.00pm to 8.15pm and afterwards for supper. If students are attending the concert as audience members, we ask them to please wear their formal school uniform. Please click here for more information.

International Book Giving Week was a huge success with 258 books being swapped amongst St John’s primary students and a large number of books collected for donation to other organisations. We are thrilled to be able to give a very large box of lovely children’s books to Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only children’s hospice and another box of books to Inala Refugee Homework Centre. Thank you to all the families who contributed to this event, and to Mrs Sanders and the library staff for helping to make it a such a wonderful success.
