Celebrating St John’s People of Influence
Friday 10 August marked St John’s annual event that acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of some exceptional past students at the 2018 Old Collegians Awards Breakfast.

Invited guests, Old Collegians, current students and staff joined together at Hillstone St Lucia to recognise and value the contribution that St John’s graduates are making to the communities in which they now live and work.  During the morning guest speaker Aaron Birkby, CEO, Startup Catalyst shared his thoughts on what the future looks like and how to take an idea and make it real, inspiring students past and present.

The Old Collegian Award winners in each category are as follows:
Academic Excellence- Dr Ashleigh Wright (2007), Psychologist, Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital
Excellence in the Workplace – Sarah Tobin (2009), Psychologist, Organisational Development, Uber HQ (San Francisco)
Service to the College – Ashley Hanger (2011), Editorial Coordinator, Queensland Magazines
Service in the Community – Mark Daniels (2010), Motivational Speaker and representing Australia at the 2018 Invictus Games
Principal’s Award – Old Collegian of the Year – Catherine Lo (2009), Associate, Clifford Chance, Sydney

With thanks also to Old Collegian Shihaab Azam (2017) who performed the Master of Ceremonies duties on the morning.

St John’s Foundation Business Breakfast – Last Chance to Register
With Greater Springfield sharing a 25-year milestone with St John’s Anglican College we are delighted to welcome guest speaker Naren Sinnathamby Director Commercial Development, Springfield City Group. Naren will share with guests what it takes to launch a new city, the highs and lows and the roles that entrepreneurship and persistence had to play to make this happen.

The second breakfast in the series will be held at Westside BMW, 275 Monier Road, Darra at a cost of $40 per person.

The Business Breakfast Series is an initiative of St John’s Anglican College Foundation and is an opportunity to connect with other professionals and local businesses within the St John’s community.
