Lake Side Reflection
It is that time of year where we finish school and prepare for the season of Christmas. This year we had a Christmas/Transition Prayer Space for our Primary students. In one of the stations, there was a Christmas tree with gifts around it. In this station, the students were encouraged to think about, “What gift would they give?” We had some very special conversations about those less fortunate than themselves. Some children talked about giving gifts and food; others talked about giving their love. Or as one very young student said, “ I wish a kid who don’t get a gift for Christmas get a puppy.” Every year I am delighted by the way the St John’s families give so generously with the Christmas Giving Tree and Operation Christmas Child, THANKYOU!
Families if you are looking at ways to encourage your children to think about the meaning of Christmas there is a link below which has some great activities for Advent and Christmas. Last year I made the succulent Advent Wreath including little angels for my front door-something you could do as a family. The links have lovely stories and ideas to share. https://godspacelight.com/2018/11/15/getting-our-families-ready-for-advent-and-christmas/
You will also see below Christmas service times for Anglican Churches in the local area which everybody is welcome. As we come to the end of another school year, remember, Jesus was born to bring light to the world, a light that reveals God’s great love for us. May you have a blessed, holy and restful Christmas.
