2017 Theme

Many of you witnessed the exciting and energetic start to school this year. The Year 12 leaders have chosen The Amazing Journey as their theme and their motto is “Journey to Acceptance”. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Year 12 leadership team for their hard work and commitment to ensuring that the first week of the school year has been a positive experience for all students at the College. I am looking forward to the other events they have planned for the year.

Induction of 2017 Leaders

On Monday 13 February at 12.45pm in the Auditorium we will have the induction of the 2017 Prefects and House Vice-Captains. Family and friends are welcome to attend. We ask that all guests be seated by 12.40pm for a prompt 12.45pm start.

Year 12 Worship Service

On Monday 6 February at 6.00pm the Year 12 Worship Service will be held in Auditorium on the Secondary Campus. Attendance is compulsory and students are required to wear their blazers (the venue is air conditioned). Family and friends are welcome to attend. We ask that everyone be seated by 5.50pm for a prompt 6.00pm start.

Senior Epaulettes

The Year 12 students are also required to purchase Senior Epaulettes. They can be purchased from the College Uniform Shop for $35.00 a pair. The epaulettes can be worn to the Year 12 Worship Service on 6 February.

Cyber Safety Parent Session

As the number of internet users continues to grow worldwide, internet safety is a growing concern for both children and adults. Concerns regarding safety on the internet is a major concern for all parents. The growth of the internet has given access to anyone with a connection and this has positive and negative connotations. The College is very keen to work with families to make sure that their children are safe in this environment.

Each year the College engages the services of a cyber-safety expert to speak to the students and to deliver a session for parents. This year we have booked the services of Susan McLean. Susan has appeared on a range of national television shows. She regularly provides expert comment in print and online media. Susan has a special ability to connect with each audience. Children from as young as 8 years of age, through to students in their final year of school, together with adults from all walks of life have been thoroughly engrossed by her vibrant and easy to understand presentations. She has a lifetime of ‘real’ experiences to share with her audience, and it is this ability, to draw on actual cases and examples, together with Susan’s exceptional presentation skills that make her presentations so unique.

The students on the Primary Campus will attend sessions delivered by Susan McLean on 13 February and the Secondary students will attend sessions on 3 March. She will be presenting a session for parents on 13 February at 6.30pm in the Auditorium. I would encourage all parents to attend the session. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any other information on this issue.
